Pyro Glass (Fire resistant glass) is used in buildings to help slow down and stop the spread of fire. In order to comply with British and European standards the glass must be glazed in the correct frame with the correct materials.
The British Standards are: BS476 Part 20 and Part 22.
The European standards are: EN13501-2, EN1363, EN1364 and EN1365.
There are a few types of fire resistant glass available, each offering different levels of safety which is designated by different timings. These timings are 30, 60, 90, 120 and 180 minutes.
If you are not sure which type of glass you require please call or email us and we will point you in the right direction. However these should be supplied by the architect or building control.
Please allow 3-5 working days for pyro glass orders or call us for lead time if you require it sooner.
